James Greer has recently been appointed the China Manager for CBD Energy, a Sydney-based Renewable Energy Company. CBD Energy is looking to establish a Renewable Energy Centre of Excellence between Australia and China to conduct further R & D and to manufacture their graphite storage block technology. James has been in China for four years and is currently a Director of the China – Australia Chamber of Commerce in Beijing.

Annie Lundin recently joined the Rathbone Wine Group, Australia's largest privately owned Wine Company, as Asia Brand Manager based in Beijing. The RWG is the parent Company of the Wine Republic – a distributor of boutique wines throughout China. Annie first arrived in Beijing in 2002 as manager of ARIA Restaurant and Bar before moving full time into the wine industry as Director of Sales at ASC Fine Wines. 

Andrew Parle has recently relocated to Shanghai as Regional Director Hong Kong, China & Taiwan for Tourism Queensland. Prior to the move, Andrew was based in Brisbane where he was TQ’s Director of Aviation.

RI Group, an international specialist financial & corporate advisory firm, has appointed Mark Sayer as Managing Director of its China (Beijing) office. Mark will oversee the firm’s growing China/Australia M&A practice. Mark, an investment banker with over 15 years experience, moves here from RI Group in Australia with his wife Siew and young daughter Amy.

The New South Wales Government hasrecently opened two offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou. Lawrence Chan has been appointed Director of Trade & Investment for Hong Kong and South China and in Guangzhou and Tony Zhang, the director of Trade & Investment for North and East China in Shanghai. Lawrence has a 20-year background in international marketing and business promotion and has worked for several American and British companies. Tony was previously a trade commissioner at the Australian Embassy in Beijing where his team was responsible for the financial services, mining, energy, food and beverage sectors. Tony has also worked in Austrade’s Sydney office as a senior export advisor before moving to China in 2007.

Andrew Sawitsch has left Beijing to take up a role with the Australian Football League as Community Development Officer, Shanghai World Expo. The position involves implementing an Australian football program with neighbouring schools and universities of Yangpu district and assisting with logistics, promotion, organisation and contact in the lead up to the AFL Expo match in 2010 and the Asian Australian Football Championships which will also be hosted in Shanghai during the World Expo. Andrew has been in China for seven years, arriving as a student and then working in Guangdong, Beijing and Tianjin. He is one of the founding members of the Beijing Bombers and was most recently based in the city of Melbourne’s Tianjin office as an Australian Football Development Officer, promoting Australian Football in Northern China and coordinating China’s first national Australian football team which toured Victoria in 2008.

Steven Finlayson has moved to Shanghai to take up the position of General Manager, Radisson Hotel Hong Quan Shanghai. Steven has been the General Manager of the Radisson Melbourne since 2005 and prior to that, Director of Operations at the Radisson Playford Adelaide (now the Sebel Playford). ■
