A commitment to developing lifelong learners is at the heart of our purpose.
Brisbane Grammar School is an independent day and boarding school for boys located in a green belt on the edge of Brisbane's CBD. Opened in 1868, it has an outstanding 141-year historical commitment to educating boys, which is expressed both in terms of academic outcomes and the development of life-long learners. The School seeks to provide boys with the best preparation for their future and caters for approximately 1400 boys in Years 6 to 12, with boarders from Year 7. Its Gregory Terrace campus houses a Middle School (Years 6 to 8) and Upper School (Years 9 to 12) which operate in an integrated manner and provide a seamless transition from Year 8 into Year 9, while at the same time providing an educational environment which is tailored to the needs of the particular age groups located in each section of the School.
At Brisbane Grammar, each boy is encouraged and supported to discover and fulfil his unique potential within an academic program that aims to develop a broad knowledge base, higher order thinking skills and dispositions that promote intelligent behaviour. The academic curriculum is complemented by a broad educational offering of cultural, sporting, personal development and service programs which the boys are encouraged to explore widely and which are considered equally important elements of their overall growth, learning and socialisation.
