Following the annual general meeting on June 30, AustCham Shanghai has announced a new Chair.

Mr David Keir, the founder and president of Dash Brands replaces longstanding AustCham Shanghai board director Stephen White as Chair.

Stephen is the head of design company iaction and is one of the Chamber’s longest standing members and remians on the board.

Mr Keir said he was delighted and proud to have been elected as Chair of the Board for the coming year.

"Understanding and serving our members is the board’s key role. This year, we will be strongly focused on improving communication and engaging with our membership, and we will base our decision-making on the knowledge we gain from this. Along with the other board directors, I am looking forward to this challenge," Mr Keir said.

Mr Keir is the founder and president of Dash Brands, a company that launched Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Boost Juice Bars and Subway Restaurants into China. He brings to the position 16 years experience as a management consultant.

David Keir will oversee a board of 10 directors including new directors, Westpac China head Andrew Whitford and deputy general manager of Saicheng Logistics International, Darren Lewis. 

Seamus Cornelius, Partner of Allens Arthur Robinson, will continue as AustCham Shanghai’s Vice Chair and Ms Vivienne Yu, Head of China Banking Investment of CommBank Management, as Finance Director.
